http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/grants/JAG/jag.html
This program accepts equipment. A local Byrne Grant Approval Committee decides distribution of funds. The application process usually begins in April for funding October 1 through September 30. Sixty percent of Byrne funding comes through this process and the rest comes through JAG Direct. Please note FDLE administers the first one and Office of Justice Programs administers the other.

This is the Byrne (JAG) Direct. Forty percent of the Byrne monies are directly established to the county. For example, in 2007, one agency used a $92,059 grant for a COMSTAT Tactical Unit.

The Project Safe Neighborhood grants, often referred to as PSN grants, may also be a valuable resource. Initially the applicant writes a concept paper. The format is up to the writer as long as all areas of the proposal are addressed. Equipment is allowed under PSN grants.
